Entry restrictions tightened for inbound travelers from HK

Restrictions for travelers entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong have tightened up again as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) saw major spikes recently.

According to a notice released by the Shenzhen Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters yesterday, starting from 10 a.m. today, travelers entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong via any Shenzhen-Hong Kong port must present a negative result of nucleic acid test issued within 72 hours by a qualified testing institution recognized by the Hong Kong government and undergo a 14-day collective medical observation.

For important government functionaries and business people, cross-border truck drivers, cross-border students who have been approved to be exempted from collective medical observation, and people who comply with the policy of mutual recognition of medical observation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, current stipulations shall continue to apply.

Hong Kong confirmed 67 COVID-19 cases yesterday, among which 63 were locally transmitted. Of them, 35 were of unclear origins, while 28 were connected with previously confirmed cases.
