Residents and health organizations that conducted antigen tests can now report their information and test results through the antigen test miniprogram, which was developed and put online recently by the provincial health commission.

The Guangdong Antigen (粤抗原) miniprogram is connected with the Guangdong Health Link and Guangdong Nucleic Acid miniprograms and the electronic health code system.

The Guangdong Antigen miniprogram was developed based on specific requirements and scenarios and has formed a closed-loop management in verifying recipients’ information, uploading test results and uploading positive result evidence. The miniprogram links with the Guangdong nucleic acid test system and thus enables individuals and health institutions to report the test results, especially those with positive results, to the centers of disease control and prevention in a timely manner.

The National Health Commission has added antigen detection as an option for COVID-19 testing among the public. Antigen detection results can now be used in screening for COVID-19 infection, while nucleic acid test results are still decisive for diagnosis. This new approach is aimed at boosting the early discovery of COVID-19 cases.

Antigen detection is applicable to people with symptoms like cough or fever, people under quarantine observation and people who are willing to have antigen self-testing.
