On the evening of August 6, the full English off-Broadway musical “The Little Match Girl” was performed in Yantian Hall in Yantian District, which was the first time this year that the play has been staged in China.

The performance was sponsored by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Yantian District. It is reported that the off-Broadway musical “The Little Match Girl” premiered in New York in 2020 and has previously toured in Chinese cities including Shenzhen and Shanghai for many shows.

The cast and crew presented a high quality performance, bringing a different kind of theater experience to the local audience and a meaningful summer holiday memory to children in Yantian.

In order to provide more diversified cultural and sports activities, the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Yantian District has, with strict pandemic prevention measures in place, introduced quality performances, exhibitions and lectures to enrich residents’ lives during the summer vacation, including events such as the “Mountain and River inChina” lecture series organized by Yantian District Library, the Cultural Experience Camp at the Zhongying Street History Museum, and cultural trainings at the Yantian District Cultural Hall.
