The meeting was hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and organized by the Yantian District Committee of the CPPCC. Wang Hongbin, vice chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, and Liang Zengchang, secretary general of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, attended the event.

The attendees explored ways to build the cooperation zone so as to coordinate with the development strategy of the Hong Kong Northern Metropolis and to accelerate the construction of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong checkpoint economic belt.

Cui Xun, member of the Yantian District Committee of the CPPCC and vice president of CMB International Capital Corporation Limited, said that Shenzhen and Hong Kong should integrate the development of the cooperation zone and the Hong Kong Northern Metropolis.

It was also suggested that the cooperation zone should integrate tourism with consumption by building a commercial area with stores run by Hong Kong citizens and providing Hong Kong products as well as commercial blocks with Hong Kong characteristics.

Meanwhile, integrated development should also be pursued in terms of medical care, insurance, cross-border e-commerce, and public services to improve the interconnection of government services and talent policies.
