Yantian initiates 11 key projects for 2023

Shenzhen announced yesterday the beginning of the construction of the first batch of projects for 2023 at a conference centering on high-quality development. Among the new projects, 11 will be initiated by Yantian District for the needs of urban renewal, industrial upgrading, and livelihood projects, which will involve a total investment of 6.74 billion yuan (US$958 million yuan).

At yesterday’s launching ceremony, Deng Feibo, deputy Party chief of the CPC Yantian District Committee and head of Yantian District, briefed attendees on the newly initiated projects. According to Deng, Yantian will unswervingly make great efforts to develop industries and implement innovation-driven development. Yantian will build itself into a core area of a global marine central city and construct the Shatoujiao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Consumption Cooperation Zone. Yantian will contribute to Shenzhen’s goal of becoming a logistics center, a consumption center, and an excellent tourist destination by focusing on the development of tourism, consumption and logistics.

Among the 11 key projects in Yantian, five are invested in by the government with an investment of 3.03 billion yuan, covering infrastructure and people’s livelihood. The projects include phase II of the Chungying Street Shenzhen-Hong Kong Tourism Consumption Cooperation Zone construction project, the Yanba Expressway renovation project, de-risking and strengthening the Yantian Dashuikeng and Yuejin Reservior projects, as well as the Pearl Green Corridor Park Belt project.
