Yantian aims for gross regional product growth of 8%

The Third Session of the Sixth People’s Congress of Yantian District that opened at the Yantian Assembly Hall on Feb. 2. 

Yantian District has established goals for 2023 of growing its regional gross domestic product by 8% and maintaining the urban unemployment rate within 3.5%, according to Deng Feibo, head of Yantian District, in his government work report presented at the Third Session of the Sixth People’s Congress of Yantian District that opened at the Yantian Assembly Hall on Feb. 2. A total of 139 deputies to the people’s congress were in attendance.

Yantian also aims to continue its steady growth in per capita disposable income of residents, and achieve the targets of energy conservation and emission reduction.

In his report, Deng listed several features of Yantian’s plans: Yantian will uphold the overall leadership of the Party, continue making progress in stability, earnestly implement the new development concepts, serve and integrate into the new development pattern, strive to promote high-quality development, more effectively coordinate epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development, better coordinate development and security, comprehensively deepen reform and opening up, vigorously boost market confidence, develop industries, and seek innovation-driven development. Efforts will continue to be made to further build Yantian into a core area of the global maritime center city, construct the Shatoujiao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Consumer Cooperation Zone, and speed up the high-quality construction of a modern, international and innovative coastal city that is favorable for working, living, businesses and tourism.
