The opening of the 2023 Yantian Sports Carnival took place at the North Gate Square of the One Mall on Feb. 4.

The Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Yantian District, the event organizer, invited 17 stadiums and training schools that provide classes in Taekwondo, martial arts, rope skipping, basketball, badminton, fencing and Go. In order to involve more residents in the sports activities, the organizer also added 20 or so fun games such as basketball shooting, deadlift challenge, passing ping pong, throwing beanbags, solving lantern riddles and throwing arrows into a distant pot. Participants won consumption vouchers and small gifts while immersing themselves in the fun of sports.

According to the organizer, the participating training schools gave out a total discount amount of 450,000 yuan (US$66,000), and 530 residents signed agreements and agreements of intent with the participating training schools, which is expected to promote sports consumption amounting to 1.7 million yuan.
