On March 8, a delegation led by Deng Feibo, deputy Party chief of the CPC Yantian District Committee and head of Yantian District, arrived in Paris and kickstarted the Shenzhen (Yantian) - France (Paris) Investment Promotion Tour, during which the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in France and reached several intents of cooperation agreements with companies such as Club Med and Tallévis N.V.

Relevant trade promotion events were organized under the guidance of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office of the Chinese Embassy in France, and were attended by Julien Gaudfroy, a cultural envoy of China and France, and representatives from over 30 French enterprises and industry associations including ITGIUM, ICACEIS, TBM Galerie and ER in the fields of fashion, trade and energy resources.

Deng said in his speech that Yantian is accelerating the construction of the core area of the global maritime center city and the Shatoujiao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Consumer Cooperation Zone, creating a new consumer center featuring duty-free shopping and a world-class coastal tourist destination. Deng extended an invitation to French and European enterprises to invest and explore the market in Shenzhen and Yantian, adding that Yantian will provide comprehensive, customized and personalized services to enable all enterprises to flourish in China’s large market that is full of vitality and unlimited potential and write a new chapter of cooperation between Paris and Shenzhen (Yantian).

In his speech, Gaudfroy gave a thumbs-up to the great changes and achievements brought about by China’s reform and opening up, and shared his wonderful experience of working and living in China, especially in Shenzhen, noting that China and France are at different stages of development and their economies are naturally complementary and can achieve higher-quality and higher-level cooperation in more areas.

Gaudfroy is one of the 50 people who were honored to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, a distinguished contributor to the 50 years of diplomacy between China and France, a cultural ambassador of China and France, an ambassador for the promotion of Chinese language, and a member of the Advisory Committee of Shenzhen International City Construction.

During the promotion events, a leader of the investment promotion department of Yantian District elaborated on the district’s development overview, business environment and series of supporting policies for investment attraction and industrial support, and shared the prospect of cooperation between Paris and Yantian in the industries of fashion consumption, life health, and advanced manufacturing.
