Among the 10 winners, three are from China, including Yantian Library in Shenzhen, Foshan Library in Foshan and Jiaxing Library in Zhejiang. It is the first time for a public library in Shenzhen to win the IFLA honor and the only award-winning project submitted by a district-level public library in China.

Yantian Library has built 10 small libraries in places with dense population and beautiful scenery, to realize its three main objectives: building a 15-minute reading circle to integrate the libraries into the local residents’ lives, encouraging the public to realize the value of libraries and creating a brand effect, and attracting more funding from the community for sustainable development.

Founded in 1927, IFLA is the most authoritative and influential non-governmental professional international organization in the world library field.
