Flight to Linzhi opens

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2023-07-28

Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, in partnership with China Southern Airlines, launched the highly anticipated direct flight between Shenzhen and Linzhi, a city in Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, to cater to passengers’ growing travel demands.

The maiden flight CZ5843 started service July 26.

The flight departs from Shenzhen at 6:55 a.m. every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Return flight CZ5844 departs from Linzhi at 11:50 a.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The route remains operational until the end of September.

Linzhi, known as the “Pearl of the Snowland,” is an area that Shenzhen has been designated to assist under the paired-up assistance program, a unique practice in China’s poverty alleviation drive.

With the opening of the new flight route, the travel time between Shenzhen and Linzhi will be reduced to four hours, facilitating trade and cultural exchanges between the two regions and boosting the local tourism industry.
