Recently, the 2023 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, known as the Oscars of the logistics industry, held its award ceremony in Singapore. Hutchison Ports YANTIAN was honored with the Best Container Port in Asia (Over 4 Million TEUs) award. It is the second time Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has received this award in six years.

As a pioneer in the 30 years of cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has grown into the world’s largest container terminal. It serves as the preferred port for ultra-large vessels and is a key international shipping hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, boasting exceptional natural advantages of deep waters. Since the beginning of this year, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has welcomed the maiden voyages of 21 of the world’s largest 24,000 TEU-class container vessels, leading in quantity in South China.

Hutchison Ports YANTIAN boasts a dense network of shipping routes, serving the most intensive European and American routes in South China. On average, there are four flights to Europe and 6 flights to the U.S. daily. It covers a multitude of overseas destinations, providing nearly a hundred routes to connect other parts of the globe every week. As a crucial node in the global supply chain, the Yantian Port area handles more than one-third of Guangdong Province’s foreign trade volume and more than one-fourth of the country’s exports to the U.S. According to data released by the Container Sub-association of China Ports and Harbors Association, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has maintained its position as the top mainland terminal for container throughput for 20 consecutive years.

Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has been dedicated to promoting green and environmentally-friendly logistics solutions, offering businesses eco-friendly, safe, and efficient multimodal transportation logistics solutions. In addition to efficiently transporting domestic goods to Yantian Port for overseas shipment through multimodal transportation, it also transports imported refrigerated containers to various regions in China efficiently and securely. As of now, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has opened 16 feeder routes, six combined ports for barges, 12 inland ports and 30 sea-rail intermodal routes, providing services to cover the Greater Bay Area, Central China, and Southwest China. In the first half of this year, the sea-rail intermodal transportation facilities in Hutchison Ports YANTIAN saw a cumulative increase of 15% in container volume compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN is also the preferred port for cold chain logistics in South China. Over the years, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has vigorously developed import and export cold chain businesses. It has become a hub port for the import of refrigerated fresh goods from the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, making it the preferred port for cold chain logistics in South China.

Cen Qicheng, the Managing Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, said: “We are very pleased that Hutchison Ports YANTIAN has once again been honored with the ‘Best Container Port in Asia’ award. This achievement is due to our extensive network of shipping routes, high-quality and efficient services, natural advantage of deep waters, and comprehensive port support services.”
