The highly anticipated Phase II extension of Shenzhen Metro Line 8 is set to open Dec. 28, marking the city’s first direct Metro route to the popular Dameisha and Xiaomeisha beaches.The announcement came during the recently concluded 2023 Yantian Business Promotion Conference.
The Phase II extension starts from the existing Yantian Road Station of Phase I, stretching eastward to Xiaomeisha Station, covering a distance of about 8.01 kilometers. It has four stations, namely Hong’anwei, Yantianxu, Dameisha, and Xiaomeisha.As a vital transportation artery in the city’s eastern part, Line 8 Phase II is designed to facilitate travel for residents in Nanshan, Futian, and Luohu districts heading to the popular tourist destinations of Dameisha and Xiaomeisha. The seamless connectivity is achieved through integration with Line 8’s Phase I and Line 2’s Phase III. Additionally, the line will serve commuters traveling between Luohu and Yantian districts.
