A ceremony marking the start of new projects in Yantian District took place Feb. 18. Li Zhong, secretary of the Yantian District Committee of the CPC, and Deng Feibo, head of the district and representatives of companies responsible for the projects and contractors participated in the ceremony.

The construction of a total of 13 major projects worth 7.17 billion yuan (US$996.08 million) was announced to commence during the event, with an investment of 2.05 billion yuan projected to be completed by 2025. Among these projects, four are invested by the district government totaling 500 million yuan, covering infrastructure and ecological protection, among other areas. The remaining nine projects, with a total investment of 6.67 billion yuan, are funded by enterprises and will be used for urban renovation and industrial upgrading.
