Yantian hosts job fair offering nearly 2,000 positions

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2024-02-28

The Yantian District Human Resources Bureau held a spring job fair at the district’s Cultural Center Square on Wednesday. The event attracted 70 local enterprises, offering nearly 2,000 job openings.

The job fair featured participation from local enterprises such as Hutchison Ports YANTIAN (YANTIAN) and Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, spanning biopharmaceuticals, warehousing and logistics, gold and jewelry, electronics and technology, accommodation, and food and beverage industries.

To better assist job applicants, a special employment service area was set up on-site, providing policy information for employment seekers and start-up companies, and face-to-face services.

Furthermore, the job fair was divided into multiple recruitment zones, covering diverse positions for general workers, structural engineers, and emerging job roles like online hosts. As a result, nearly 400 individuals were able to secure job offers.

Xie Chuhua, a job seeker who traveled across districts to the job fair, said that compared to online recruitment, offline job fairs provide employment seekers with a more direct channel to obtain company-related information, while also allowing the companies to conduct interviews with the applicants face to face. “This significantly enhances the chances of successful job hunting,” said Xie.

“We have conducted extensive promotion through various online and offline channels, including WeChat groups and Moments, and community bulletin boards.

Our efforts have reached nearly 100,000 people and attracted around 2,000 job seekers from Shenzhen and other cities in the Pearl River Delta," a spokesperson from the bureau told the reporter.

According to the spokesperson, the bureau plans to enhance the functions of the public employment service system by expanding employment channels and providing personalized services to assist job seekers.

It is reported that in 2024, the bureau will encourage subdistricts in Yantian to host four more such public job fairs. Furthermore, the district will serve private firms, aid job seekers with disabilities in applying for suitable jobs, and hold a career fair for university graduates.
