Yantian plans more tour routes

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2020-08-03

Yantian District is planning to further tap into its rich tourism resources and introduce more distinctive tour routes for visitors, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The district government has proposed to build a ferry terminal in the area, corresponding to the central axis of Shatoujiao, where the decommissioned Minsk aircraft carrier had once docked.

The ferry terminal will be connected to Yantian Seafood Street, Meisha Ferry Terminal and Nan’ao Ferry Terminal to form a maritime tour route, according to sources with the Yantian administration under the city’s planning and natural resources bureau.

The district is considering creating a sightseeing route between Shatoujiao and Shekou Cruise Center. The trip will take about five hours and enable passengers to enjoy the ocean views of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

A 69 kilometer-long hiking trail running from east to west is also in the pipeline, the district’s urban administration and law enforcement bureau said.

The hiking trail project will include three waterfall landscapes, four scenic spots, six parks, 13 viewing platforms and 23 mountaineering entrances and exits.

Bidding for the project is under way, according to the Daily.
