SZ has already entered summer: observatory

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2021-04-02

According to standard meteorological methods for determining seasons, summer in the city likely began on, what might be the earliest date in this city’s history, March 25, the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said yesterday.

When the average temperature exceeds 22 degrees Celsius for five days, it is considered to be in summer, the observatory said.

The weather during the Qingming Festival holiday, Saturday to Monday, is forecasted to be sunny and dry in Shenzhen.

The high temperatures will reach 30 and 32 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday. The high temperature will then drop by 2 degrees Celsius on Monday.

As the temperatures will be high during the upcoming holiday, residents are advised to take precautions when doing outdoor activities to prevent sunstrokes.

Yet there is some relief to look forward to, as cold air is expected to arrive in the city by mid and late April.
