Yantian District’s first house number doorplate “2128 Shenyan Road” with a QR code was officially issued April 1.

By scanning the QR code on the new styled house number doorplates, residents can get access to such information as the standard address of each house building, owners of the building as well as deal with daily matters and make payments.

Yantian police put in four years of effort to sort out the house number doorplates in its jurisdiction, QR code data, and the number of standard address (buildings), and found out that 10,570 house number doorplates, building doorplates and unit number doorplates needed to be upgraded.

An officer with Yantian Police Bureau said that these QR codes don’t contain management data and personal information, hence there is no risk of information leakage.

Starting from April 1, Yantian police has been working on the upgrade and installation of the new styled house number doorplates in the district and will finish the work in the near future.
