Notice of Shenzhen Municipality on COVID-19 vaccination appointment for foreigners in Shenzhen

According to the Guangdong Provincial Leading Group's work arrangements on COVID-19 Vaccination for foreign nationals in Guangdong, Shenzhen has initiated COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners in Shenzhen based on the principles which include informed consent, voluntariness, self-paying, and own risk-bearing. From April 22, 2021, foreign nationals in Shenzhen are able to schedule a vaccine appointment through the "健康深圳" WeChat official account.

1. Recipients

Foreign nationals who are aged 18 to 59, some aged over 60 who need to be vaccinated for special reasons, and who have good physical conditions are able to get vaccinated voluntarily.

Foreign nationals who have bought social insurance (including medical insurance) in Guangdong or who enjoy the reciprocal medical treatment according to relevant national regulations enjoy the same policy (vaccination free of charge) as the insured Chinese citizens.

Those who do not buy social insurance (including medical insurance) in Guangdong have to take the COVID-19 vaccine at their own expense, which is 100 RMB per dose.

2. Vaccination site

A total of 8 COVID-19 vaccination sites for foreign nationals and Hong Kong, Macaoand Taiwan compatriots have been set up in Shenzhen. See the attachment for the list.

3. Appointment method

In order to implement vaccination in a safe and orderly manner, an online appointment method with group appointment as the primary while individual appointment as the secondary shall be adopted. Appointment via phone numbers of the designated vaccination sites shall only be adopted for those who don’t have access to network. In principle, vaccination is not provided without appointment.

1) Online group appointment

For vaccination organized by enterprises, public institutions, chambers of Commerce, etc. in Shenzhen, applicants are able to book a group appointment through the "健康深圳" WeChat official account (Public Services > For foreigners > Group Appointment). Once booked successfully, applicants can organize a group to get vaccinated at the appointment time and site.

2) Online individual appointment

For vaccination not organized by enterprises, public institutions, chambers of Commerce, etc. in Shenzhen, applicants are able to book an appointment through the "健康深圳" WeChat official account (Public Services > For foreigners > Individual Appointment). Once booked successfully, applicants can get vaccinated at the appointment time and site.

4. Required identity documents

To get vaccinated, applicants need to present their Permanent Residence ID Card or their passport and a residence permit in the People's Republic of China, as well as a medical insurance proof. Foreign nationals who have bought social insurance (including medical insurance) in Guangdong must present a valid medical insurance proof on site.

5. Precautions for vaccination

Prior to the administration at the designated vaccination site, recipients have to cooperate with the staff of the vaccination site to complete the prescribed procedures, honestly disclose their personal health status, truthfully answer the medical staff's questions, and sign the Informed Consent and Disclaimer Statement. Medical professionals will determine whether they are eligible for vaccination. After vaccination, recipients should stay at the vaccination site for observation for 30 minutes. During the vaccination period, please take personal protections according to the local epidemic prevention and control measures. After vaccination, please pay close attention to your physical condition within 14 days. If you feel any discomfort, please seek medical treatment in time.
