Shenzhen Yantian Port Group Co. Ltd. will join hands with Hutchison Ports Yantian Ltd. to set up a joint venture to build three new berths for container ships with an investment of 10.93 billion yuan (US$1.71 billion). 

The project will also include supporting facilities and a container yard. The container yard will be capable of handling 3 million TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) a year. 

The construction will last 56 months. It will consolidate the port’s status as a world-class, intelligent container transportation hub.
