Passengers will now be able to travel via helicopter from Shenzhen to other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with the recent opening of the first phase of the Eastern General Aviation Helicopter Operation Base in Yantian District.

At present the helicopter base consists of an urban air traffic operation base, an urban emergency management supporting base and an aviation industry innovation and development platform. Meanwhile, the helicopter base is striving to build a cross-regional low-altitude operation network covering the GBA cities.

The base boasts a hangar, a helicopter repair and maintenance room, an apron, a security check area, a flight simulator driving area, an aviation science area, a flight club, a static helicopter exhibition area, a UAM unmanned aerial vehicles display area, a passenger waiting room, a gift shop, a multi-functional meeting area, an office area and other related facilities.
