Police launch actions for holiday travel safety

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2022-01-13

Shenzhen traffic police will launch three actions targeting driving under the influence of alcohol, fatigue driving and overloading, and e-bike violations during the Spring Festival travel season, which will start Monday.

These are one of the 15 measures that Shenzhen traffic police unveiled yesterday to ensure road safety during the 40-day Spring Festival travel season.

To ensure holiday safety, officers will be on duty 10 days before the start of the 40-day travel season at two provincial-level and six city-level inspection stations, and 17 patrol stations.

The two provincial-level inspection stations will operate 24 hours a day to check vehicles running on expressways. City-level patrol stations will run for eight hours a day focusing on cars, coaches, hazardous chemical carrying vehicles, school buses and vehicles involved in illegal transport businesses, police said.

Police are also encouraging the public to report violations of long-distance buses such as overloading and speeding, as well as private cars involved in illegal transportation businesses.
