Examinees can call police in an emergency

Students who will sit the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE), which starts today, can call the police service hotline 8333-3333 when they are in emergencies on the roads to their examination venues.

Vehicles stuck in traffic with NCEE examinees inside can temporarily use the bus lanes, and park at roadsides near examination sites on the condition that the vehicles will not obstruct traffic. Nonlocally registered vehicles carrying examinees will be exempted from fines for driving on roads during rush hours between today and Thursday, the examination period. These measures ensure smooth traffic during the examination period, data released by the police authority showed.

Engineering vehicles, trucks and vehicles carrying flammable and explosive items will be banned on roads around the examination sites.

Drivers who are applying to suspend driving during the examination period at the police’s WeChat account will receive three times their green commuting points that can be used to exchange for gifts at stores.

Examinees are advised to arrive at the examination sites one hour ahead, leaving sufficient time for checks. Students will not be allowed to enter the examination sites 15 minutes before the start of the exams, the city’s enrollment and examination office has reminded.
