The Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone recently passed the provincial assessment to become a pilot recycling transformation project, DT News reported, citing the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. It was the second project in Yantian to pass such an assessment.

Recycling transformation can effectively improve resource utilization efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is an important measure to promote the realization of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the News reported. 

In 2018, the Yantian District Development and Reform Bureau officially launched the recycling transformation work to improve the bonded zone’s resource utilization level and reduce the total amount and intensity of energy consumption.

Through the recycling transformation, the bonded zone provided a mode of green and low-carbon development for port free trade zones, according to the News.
