A groundbreaking ceremony for Yantian District’s first batch of 29 key construction projects in 2019 was held Feb. 20 and was attended by Yang Jun, deputy Party chief of the Yantian District Committee of the CPC and head of the district along with other district leaders including Shi Weigan, Lei Weihua and Zhou Min.

With a total investment of 9.146 billion yuan, the 29 projects include the restoration of seashore plank roads and Dameisha Coastal Park, the renovation of Mingzhu Road and the expansion of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School. All the projects concern Yantian’s long-term development and residents’ livelihood.

The 29 key projects include four projects in the category of urban renewal, one in industrial investment and 24 in urban construction.

The Yantian government will invest 2.71 billion yuan in the projects while investment from the public is 6.436 billlion yuan.

“The construction of these projects will bring more benefits to residents, release room for industrial development, upgrade the business environment and boost momentum for economic development,” Yang said at the ceremony. He also urged departments at all levels work closely to meet the needs of the projects.
