4th imported COVID-19 case reported in Shenzhen comes from the Philippines

On Mar. 14, Shenzhen had 1 new confirmed COVID-19 case imported from the Philippines. The patient was sent to hospital directly from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint and was later confirmed of COVID-19 infection. This is the 4th imported case the city has confirmed.

The patient, surnamed Sun, is a 52-year-old male of Chinese nationality. He left China for the Philippines for work purposes in July 2019. Previously, he lived in Nanshan District.

The 6 persons on the Chinese mainland who have been traced to have had close contact with the patient have all been quarantined for medical observation. The nucleic acid testing results for 5 of them are negative while that for the last person is yet to be released. None of them have shown any COVID-19 related symptoms.

The 4 new COVID-19 cases the city has confirmed since Feb. 18 were all imported from other countries.
