Recently, the Yantian Port Industrial Belt Space Layout Plan of the Yantian-Dapeng East Coastal Advanced Manufacturing Park (hereinafter referred to as “Plan”) has been officially unveiled, setting the overall goal that Yantian will guarantee the future development of advanced manufacturing industries and provide them with high-quality industrial space. The Plan also maps out a blueprint for the development of special technology industry clusters and the high-quality integration of industries and cities.

A precise, effective and scientific industrial plan is key to the regional economic development. For the goal of building a “special science and technology industry innovation zone,” the Plan points out that Yantian will, based on its industrial advantages, focus on the growth of advanced manufacturing industries, break the spatial constraints and industrial barriers, strengthen the connection between upstream and downstream industrial chains, gather innovative elements, and generate knowledge spillover effects, all in a bid to create a green ecological bay area with characteristics of mountains and the sea and build itself into a hub of an emerging marine industry in the Greater Bay Area and a globally competitive demonstration base for life sciences.

The Yantian Port Industrial Belt of the Yantian-Dapeng East Coastal Advanced Manufacturing Park mainly includes the land area behind the Yantian Port in Yantian Subdistrict, and Haishan and Meisha subdistricts. The main area extends to the Pingyan Railway in the east, Wutong Mountain Boulevard in the west, the ecological control line in the north, and the Yantian Port area in the south. Areas covered in Haishan and Meisha subdistricts include Dabaihui Life and Health Industrial Park and BGI Chengkeng Industrial Park, which cover a total area of about 8.02 square kilometers, and the planned industrial land of about 0.64 square kilometers. In the future, an additional 0.38 square kilometers of land will be reserved for industrial use.

According to the Plan, by 2025, the industrial concentration will be significantly increased, the industrial innovation capacity will be vastly enhanced, the industrial spatial layout will be continuously optimized, and a good ecology of synergistic development of science and technology innovation and advanced manufacturing will be formed. The park will become a model park of advanced manufacturing and serve as strong support for Yantian to turn itself into a core area of the global marine center city. By 2030, the advanced manufacturing park will be a scientific, innovative and ecological park featuring efficient spatial resource allocation with outstanding advantages for leading industries, which will incubate enterprises with global competitiveness, become a model high-end manufacturing park in China, and help Shenzhen continue its development into a global benchmark city for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
