Yantian District is home to Yantian Port, a world-class deep-water port. Yantian International Container Terminals has been honored as the Best Asian Container Port, with 20 deep-water berths and 100 international shipping routes operated weekly. The district has attracted calls from all 18,000 TEU container ships worldwide. In 2017, the container throughput of Yantian Port reached 12.7 million TEU and ranked first in the world, accounting for more than 50% of the Shenzhen Port's total container throughput. The container throughput of Yantian Port exceeded 1.6 million TEUs in a single month in August 2026.

All of this consolidates Yantian Port's position as the main hub port in South China. Yantian District has 42 port-vicinity logistics warehouses with a gross storage area of 1.46 million square meters, making it the largest port-vicinity warehousing base in China.
