Administrative division

Established in March 1998, Yantian District now has jurisdiction over four subdistrict offices namely Shatoujiao, Haishan, Yantian and Meisha, and the Chung Ying Street Administration Bureau.

Shatoujiao Subdistrict

Located in the southwest of Yantian District, Shatoujiao Subdistrict was established in June 2002. It neighbors Haishan Subdistrict in the east, New Territories of Hong Kong and Dapeng Bay in the southwest, backing Wutong Mountain in the northwest, and linking Liantang Subdistrict and Donghu Subdistrict of Luohu District as well as Henggang Subdistrict of Longgang District on the northwest.

Covering an area of 6.07 square kilometers, Shatoujiao Subdistrict features a geographical topography with the north side higher than the south and the landform mainly hills. It has jurisdiction over four community workstations including Shatoujiao, Tianxin, Qiaodong, and Donghe. Chung Ying Street is a street on the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, within the border town of Sha Tau Kok (Hong Kong) and Shatoujiao (Shenzhen). One side of the street belongs to Hong Kong and the other belongs to the Chinese Mainland.

Haishan Subdistrict

Haishan Subdistrict, located in the central part of Yantian District, was also established in June 2002. It neighbors Yantian Subdistrict in the east, Shatoujiao Subdistrict in the west, Dapeng Bay in the north, facing New Territories of Hong Kong across the sea in the south, and backing Wutong Mountain and linking Henggang Subdistrict of Longgang District in the north.

Haishan Subdistrict covers an area of 5.57 square kilometers. The administrative, economic and cultural center of Yantian District is situated in this subdistrict. It has jurisdiction over four community workstations including Tiandong, Wutong, Pengwan and Haitao.

Yantian Subdistrict

Yantian Subdistrict was established in March 1998. Located in the central part of Yantian District, it links with Meisha Subdistrict in the east, Haishan Subdistrict in the west, neighbors Dapeng Bay in the south and faces Hong Kong across the sea and neighbors Henggang Subdistrict of Longgang District in the north. It covers an area of 44.71 square kilometers, administering 6 community workstations including Yantian, Yangang, Donghai, Mingzhu, Haitong and Yong’an.

Meisha Subdistrict

Meisha Subdistrict, situated in the east of Yantian District, was established in March 1998. It neighbors Kuichong Subdistrict of Dapeng New District in the east, Yantian Subdistrict in the west, faces New Territories of Hong Kong across the sea in the south, and neighbors Pingshan Subdistrict of Pingshan District in the north.

It covers an area of 21.83 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over four community workstations including Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, Binhai, and Donghaian.

Chung Ying Street

The Chung Ying Street Administration Bureau was unveiled Jan. 5, 2015. Covering approximately 0.18 square kilometers, it is located on the northwest shore of Dapeng Bay at the south bank of the lower Shatoujiao River where it flows into the sea.
