Smart tourist drone photography takes off in Yantian

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2025-05-12

In a futuristic scene straight out of a sci-fi film, a quick scan of a QR code sends a drone soaring into the air. Instantly, the drone transforms into a personal “aerial photographer,” tracking and capturing stunning shots of tourists framed by both mountain and sea.

This innovative experience recently unfolded at Yunhai Plaza in Yantian District — a destination now fondly dubbed the “Shenzhen version of Castle in the Sky” — vividly bringing the concept of “low-altitude airspace + cultural tourism” to life.

At the heart of this breakthrough is the “Sheng · Lotus Drone” system, developed by Shenzhen-based i-KINGTEC Co., Ltd. Named for its lotus-like appearance, the autonomous drone docking station occupies just 0.25 square meters while delivering powerful functionality.

It supports automatic takeoff and landing, battery and payload swaps, flight path planning, and even autonomous generation of inspection reports.

This cutting-edge technology is turning traditional tourist snapshots into a high-tech, immersive experience.
