Yantian-based KINGHOOD Group, through its Smart Gold Store, partnered with GoldSmart to launch the first international version of their smart gold recycling machines in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on May 20. The machines were introduced at two prominent locations in the SAR: the L’Arc Macao hotel and Centro Comercial da Praia Grande, marking a significant step in their overseas expansion. The launch event was attended by several high-profile guests.

This marks KINGHOOD Group’s debut in bringing its smart gold store concept to the Hong Kong and Macao SARs. The two KINGHOOD-GoldSmart stores in Macao were jointly launched by Fortune China 500 enterprise KINGHOOD and Macao New Green Box Pavilion Centre Ltd., featuring the debut of nine smart gold recycling machines designed specifically for international markets. With the combined expertise and resources of both companies, the machines are quickly gaining traction, improving market coverage and operational efficiency.
The international version of the machine is based on the “gold ATM” model already launched on the mainland, but with a multilingual interface (including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English) and real-time price updates via the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. It supports measurements in both grams and taels and offers various currency options, including Macanese pataca, Hong Kong dollar, and Renminbi. The machines also provide robust after-sales service tailored to local consumers. Additionally, the launch introduces smart gold sales terminals featuring exclusive products, such as limited-edition gold bars and medallions, which are proving popular with both locals and tourists.
“The KINGHOOD smart gold recycling machine can accurately test and appraise gold in just three minutes. The fully automated process ensures consumers get fair and transparent pricing, making the experience both secure and reliable,” said Kuan Yan-chi, chairman of GoldSmart. He noted that this smart recycling model improves transparency and efficiency, bolstering consumer trust in the gold recycling industry. Moreover, it supports the digital transformation of Macao’s gold market, unlocking new opportunities for growth and innovation.

China’s Macao is a global tourism and leisure hub, a key platform for trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and an important gateway for international cultural and consumer exchanges. The introduction of these smart gold recycling machines targets both international tourists and local residents.
In recent years, driven by the rise of “smart manufacturing,” KINGHOOD Group has been a leader in applying cutting-edge technologies like AI and big data to the gold industry. The international version of the smart gold store provides real-time global gold prices, supports the registration of mobile numbers from different countries, and enables multi-currency transactions. The system is also adaptable, allowing for local languages, measurement units, and regulatory requirements. This represents a significant milestone in KINGHOOD’s strategy to expand globally with tech-driven solutions.
Through its partnership with New Green Box Pavilion Centre, KINGHOOD is strategically leveraging Macao’s unique position as an international business hub. This marks an important step in expanding the smart gold store network into overseas markets, helping bring “Made-in-China” innovation to the global gold industry.
