On December 24, Yantian District People’s Hospital held an opening ceremony for its new hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) Center, marking a significant upgrade to the hospital’s rehabilitation services.

As medical technology advances, hyperbaric oxygen therapy has emerged as an important clinical discipline, recognized for its unique mechanism and proven therapeutic benefits.

HBOT plays an irreplaceable role in the emergency treatment of gas embolism and carbon monoxide and other toxic gas poisoning, and in neurological rehabilitation for conditions such as stroke and traumatic brain injury.

It is also used to treat challenging conditions including diabetic foot and sudden sensorineural hearing loss.

The newly established center, managed under the hospital’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, is equipped with a domestically advanced multifunctional medical oxygen chamber.

The facility features a main chamber and a transition chamber and can treat up to 12 patients simultaneously.

Each chamber is fitted with multifunctional oxygen modules that provide routine oxygen inhalation, nebulized oxygen, high-flow oxygen, negative-pressure suction and an emergency call system.

In addition, the center is equipped with hyperbaric-compatible ventilators, patient monitors, infusion pumps and other emergency equipment, enabling services ranging from critical care rescue and consciousness enhancement to intensive rehabilitation, chronic disease recovery, wellness, and medical cosmetology.
