As a four-time winner of the “Best Global Green Container Terminal” award, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) continues to lead the way in green port development. YICT has implemented a series of initiatives including optimizing its energy mix, promoting clean energy, and deploying intelligent power management systems to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Yantian Port is also a national pioneer in the widespread adoption of shore power. It boasts the highest volume of shore power use in China and the most extensive berth coverage with shore power among container terminals. In April 2025, the port set a new record by connecting shore power to nearly 120 vessels—averaging almost four ships per day and surpassing its previous monthly high.
