Metro services adjusted for marathon

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2023-12-01

STARTING at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Metro lines 2/8, along with lines 3, 10, 11, 14, and 4, will commence operations one hour earlier than usual, accommodating the early morning schedule of the 2023 Shenzhen Marathon.

To further support the marathon runners, individuals with bibs can avail themselves of complimentary Metro rides until 5 p.m. Sunday, facilitating their commute to and from the event.

However, due to the substantial number of runners expected on the roads during the marathon, traffic controls will be enforced by the police in key areas, including Futian, Nanshan, Bao’an, and Qianhai.

To prevent overcrowding and potential stampedes, specific entrances and exits of some Metro stations will be temporarily closed between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. These closures include exits C, D, E, and F of Civic Center Station, exits No. 15 and No. 16 of Futian Station, and exits No. 1, 2A, 2B, and No. 3 of Gangxia North Station.

Moreover, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., exits B1 and C of Baohua Station will only accept entries, according to a notice issued by Shenzhen Metro Group.
