On July 28, the melodious tones resonating through Yantian Hall marked the grand finale of the Third Shenzhen International Horn Competition. This eight-day international event drew over 400 talented young horn players from around the world, all competing with exceptional skill for top honors.
In recent years, Yantian District has actively promoted its “Culturally Strong District” initiative, with the introduction of this prestigious competition serving as a key step toward establishing a world-class arts platform.
A representative from the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra remarked, “We hope this competition not only uncovers outstanding horn talent but also becomes a cultural landmark for both Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.”
Han Xiaoming, a German-Chinese professional horn player and youth group judge, was honored with the esteemed “Punto Award” from the World Horn Association.
Han highlighted that although the Shenzhen International Horn Competition is still relatively young, this year’s record-breaking participation and the performers’ outstanding international caliber underscore its growing global reputation.
