CCTV-13’s Morning News recently featured the 2025 China Culture and Tourism Industries Expo, spotlighting emerging technologies and formats that are reshaping the culture and tourism sector.

Among the most eye-catching exhibits was the “Sky-Dome City,” a multi-use immersive dome developed by Yantian company Xu & Wuying (欻与无影).

The installation—a 14-meter-diameter spherical projection dome—allows visitors to step inside and experience sweeping, large-scale visual scenes without special headsets or devices.

By combining virtual-reality techniques with large-format projection, the dome delivers an accessible, fully immersive experience that attracted continuous crowds at the expo.

The segment underscored a broader industry trend: virtual reality, immersive scenography and other experiential technologies are rapidly becoming popular ways to showcase regional cultural resources.

According to the report, businesses focused on immersive experiences have recorded about 10% annual revenue growth in recent years, positioning them as a key driver of high-quality cultural industry development.
