More than 100 hotels in Shenzhen were recognized as 2025 “3R zero-waste hotels” at a sharing session held on October 15 at Enshang Wetland Park, Yantian District.

The event, themed “Enjoy zero-waste hotels, go green for fashion and health,” promoted the green hosting concept of the upcoming 15th National Games by advocating practical waste sorting and reduction measures across the hotel industry.

Organizers said the event aimed to showcase industry best practices and further advance municipal waste classification efforts in Shenzhen’s hospitality sector.

As a designated reception hotel for the 15th Games, Wyndham Grand Shenzhen Guangming shared its experience tailoring waste-management facilities to event needs, strengthening staff environmental training, and guiding guests toward greener habits during their stays.

InterContinental Shenzhen Dameisha Resort, honored as an outstanding model “3R zero-waste hotel,” presented measures suited to seaside resort operations — including campaigns to reduce food waste, cut single-use items, and reuse or repurpose retired materials.

These examples served as practical models for other hotels striving toward zero-waste objectives.
