A man from Central China’s Henan Province recently had a long-cherished dream fulfilled with the help of wedding planners in Yantian.
On May 5, seated in a wheelchair with a bouquet in his arms, Sun watched as his wife, dressed in a pristine white wedding gown, walked toward him on the lawn of the Dorie Garden Holiday Villa in Yantian District. As colorful smoke billowed into the air, the romantic moment was captured in photos against the backdrop of the sea and mountains.

Sun and his wife, Ms. Huan, have been together for 14 years. Eight years ago, Sun injured his spinal cord after falling in a work-related accident and has suffered paralysis in his lower limbs ever since. Despite the difficulties, his wife stayed by his side, caring for him devotedly.
During the May Day holiday, the couple came to Shenzhen for rehabilitation treatment. The family spent a day at the seaside to relax. While watching other couples take wedding photos, Sun noticed his wife’s lingering gaze.
Although the couple had been married for years, Sun had never given her a formal proposal. "She has endured so much hardship, and I am truly grateful to her," he said. He decided to take the opportunity while in Shenzhen to give her a long-overdue, heartfelt declaration of love.
After some online research, Sun contacted a wedding planner based at the Dorie Garden Holiday Villa for help. The owner, Zeng Lini, was deeply moved by the couple’s story and immediately offered to provide the venue for free and handle the entire planning process.
That evening, Zeng called dozens of photographers — over 20 in total — but most were unavailable. In the end, one photographer made a special trip back from Wuhan to fulfill Sun’s wish. Meanwhile, eight companies in the wedding planning business rallied to help: videographers, a host, a drone operator, a sound engineer, a makeup artist, a yacht provider, florists, and providers of fruit, sashimi, cake, and other desserts — everything fell into place. "We mobilized every resource we could. It took us two nights and one full day of coordination, and everyone was incredibly supportive," Zeng said.
By the afternoon of May 5, everything was ready. Accompanied by friends and family, Sun brought his wife — who had no idea what was planned — to the venue. On the lawn, seated in his wheelchair, he read aloud his handwritten confession: "I, Sun, will love only you for the rest of my life. I will give everything I have to protect you. Will you marry me?" Moved to tears, Huan answered, "Yes, I do!"
"Shenzhen is truly a city full of warmth and love," Sun said emotionally, adding that he could never have pulled off the proposal on his own.
