This summer, students on vacation in Yantian District have plenty of engaging options, thanks to a series of public‑benefit activities launched by the Yantian District Women’s Federation. Covering study tours, parent‑child relationship lectures, book clubs, art workshops, and volunteer services, the programs have already attracted over 1,000 children and parents.

On July 23, 47 children were interviewed for a growth‑themed summer camp, and 25 were selected to participate. The camp combines lectures with field visits, allowing participants to explore future technology, community governance, everyday occupations, and law enforcement. They visited tech companies, community service centers, courier stations, and the district procuratorate, gaining a firsthand understanding of how society really works. On the final day of the camp, scheduled for Aug. 14, the young campers will give presentations and share their insights and suggestions for improving community governance.

A concurrent children's study tour offers three thematic tracks: technology experiences, intangible cultural heritage, and ecological field trips. Participants have visited a helicopter company, the Tanka Culture Museum in Yantian, the Shenzhen Museum, and other sites, learning about technological development, local culture, and environmental protection.

Another series of activities focuses on parent‑child relations and book sharing, while a separate program educates children about puberty and self‑protection, helping them navigate interpersonal relationships and reduce the risk of sexual abuse.

A parent‑child picture‑book salon attracted 30 families, with parents learning better communication skills and how to encourage their children more effectively.

The organizers have also planned a children's speech empowerment camp to help participants express themselves with greater confidence.

Beyond these, free film screenings, art experiences such as African drum workshops, and volunteer practice opportunities are also on offer.

The Yantian District Women’s Federation said it will continue to pool local resources and roll out more summer services for children and families, ensuring a safe and fulfilling holiday for all.
