New combined port route linking Shenzhen and Foshan opens

From: Shenzhen Daily | Updated:2024-03-08

Recently, a new port route connecting Yantian Port in Shenzhen and Nanhai Port in Foshan was put into use, marking the official operation of the Yantian (Shenzhen)-Nanhai (Foshan) combined port.

Utilizing Yantian as its pivotal port and Foshan’s inland water docks as feeder ports, the combined port establishes an integrated network for direct cargo transfer between Yantian and Foshan via water.

Foshan foreign trade enterprises can now directly access the extensive international routes through the combined port in Yantian, enabling swift connections to various destinations worldwide. With a streamlined customs declaration, inspection, and release process throughout the journey, it significantly reduces time costs, labor costs, and logistics expenses while enhancing trade facilitation.

The new mode effectively avoids the uncertainties such as traffic congestion and missing sailing schedules common in previous land-sea intermodal transportation. It further enhances the predictability of enterprise production plans and improves the allocation efficiency of production resources.
