According to the MOU, the two sides will cooperate in key areas including economy and trade, culture, science and technology, education, and tourism. They will establish a mutual visit mechanism, send delegations for study and exchange, and deepen cooperation in these fields.

The two governments will promote connections and business collaboration between enterprises and institutions on both sides, organize participation in major conventions, exhibitions, arts festivals, and other events held locally, and promote various forms of people-to-people exchanges. The two sides will also establish a liaison mechanism to steadily advance exchanges and collaboration.

Santos is a strategically important port city in Brazil, with a vibrant economy centered around agricultural trade, port operations, and tourism. The Brazilian delegation stated that the signing of the MOU will build a platform for deepening all-round cooperation between the two sides and expressed hope that both localities will benefit from the cooperation.

District Mayor Deng Feibo noted that Yantian and Santos share many similarities — both are important port hubs, tourism destinations with beautiful scenery, and dynamic urban areas with unique character.

He expressed hope that the two sides would start with the MOU signing and embark on a win-win journey of cooperation in port logistics, cultural tourism, and other aspects, strengthening commercial connectivity, deepening industrial synergy, and enhancing two-way visits.
